To protect the rich animal life west of Amager the Øresund landworks are fenced in. Bridges and paths have been constructed as fauna passages so the animals can cross the motorway and railway unharmed.
The following decision for utilisation of the areas north of the railway has entailed that large animals are preferred south of the Øresund landworks.
