Strategy for outsourcing
Sund & Bælt is an "Owner/Client" organisation which, based on its employees' core competencies, plans, manages, monitors and optimises its own as well as its external partners' customer services and administers the infrastructure facilities. Within this context, it is essential that knowledge of, for instance, the state of the “production apparatus" as well as customers is maintained and available internally. In addition, it is important that Sund & Bælt retains full control of core processes and strategic decisions.
As a result, Sund & Bælt usually outsources tasks outside the company's core business and management responsibilities in order to increase flexibility, have access to specialised knowledge, specific technologies and benefits of scale. This includes the ability of external parties to handle fluctuations in resource requirements and provide solutions under time pressure.
Sund & Bælt, therefore, has outsourced the majority of its operational tasks to private service companies and contractors.
Most of Sund & Bælt's operational tasks relate to the Storebælt bridge. A smaller proportion concerns the Øresund motorway.

- Operational insurance. This task is currently handled by, among others, If Skadeforsikring.
