While A/S Øresund owns the Øresund railway, technical operations and maintenance are handled by Banedanmark (Rail Net Denmark). Banedanmark pays A/S Øresund an annual fee for use of the Øresund line.
A/S Øresund owns 50% of Øresundsbro Konsortiet which operates the Øresund Bridge.
A/S Øresund is a legal entity, which means that staff contracts are with A/S Øresund, although staff are employed by Sund & Bælt.
Loans are also raised in A/S Øresund’s name. The company’s financial administration is handled in conjunction with Øresundsbro Konsortiet.
The Øresund motorway was inaugurated on September 27, 1997 while the Øresund line opened on 27 September, 1998.
